GS1-128 barcode generator for SSCC labels
Fill in the shipment, check the preview, then copy or download the ZPL. The label is a 4 x 6 inch GS1 logistic label with the SSCC as a GS1-128 barcode. Everything is generated in your browser.
Paste rows from a spreadsheet or load a CSV file. One row makes one label. The first row must be the column names. Rows with an empty sscc get the next number from the SSCC numbering below.

- 18-digit SSCC. Leave empty to have one assigned from your company prefix.
0614141 is an example prefix. Replace it with your own GS1 Company Prefix before you print: an SSCC built on a prefix that is not yours is not a valid number for your shipment.

^XZTell me when batch runs and SSCC serial tracking launch
Next up: saved batch runs from a packing list, and a serial ledger that remembers the last SSCC you used so a number is never repeated. Leave an email address and we will write once, when they are ready.
How to use the output
The ZPL is plain text. Send it to the printer the way you send any ZPL: from your WMS or ERP, with a print utility, or by saving the .zpl file and sending it to the printer's raw port. Each label is one ^XA to ^XZ block, so a batch is simply the blocks one after another.
Choose the resolution that matches the printer. The 203 dpi output draws the barcode 4 dots per module and the 300 dpi output draws it 6 dots per module, which keeps the bars inside the size range GS1 sets for logistic units. The annotated ZPL example explains every line, and the GS1-128 label guide explains the size rules.
Numbering
Every label needs its own SSCC. Enter your GS1 Company Prefix and the serial number to start from, and the generator numbers the labels in sequence and adds the check digit. Keep a record of the last serial you used and start the next run after it. The SSCC label guide covers how the number is built, and the check digit calculator shows the arithmetic.
What this tool does not do
- It does not know any retailer's private label layout. It produces one generic GS1 logistic label.
- It does not remember the serial numbers you have used. That record is yours to keep.
- It does not print. It gives you ZPL for your own printer or software to send.
- It has not yet been verified on printer hardware. The ZPL has been rendered with a ZPL rendering service at 203 and 300 dpi, not printed and scanned on a physical printer. Print one label and scan it before a run.
